How Should Our First Female Bond Dress?
Bond, Jane Bond.
I just typed: "Gillian Anderson" into Google and it auto-filled the third word: "Bond".
To fill you in - Gillian has a Tumblr, where she sometimes answers her fans' questions, and one question was: "What's the best rumour you've ever heard about yourself?" To which she answered: "That I might be the next Bond."
Another name being thrown around is Idris Elba. But the casting of the role is not even really what I want to talk about!
I want to talk about how every time I go to see a Bond movie, I don't want to be the "Bond girl", I want to be the Bond. And if I was Bond how many languages would I speak? How would I dress??? Here's what makes up my ideal female Bond...
Jane Bond wears:
Tom Ford has been responsible for the recent image of Daniel Craig as James Bond, and I think it's great, but I don't think Ford's womenswear is the best we can do. I'm thinking Celine. And I'm thinking about some of Ellery's more subtle cuts. Tom Ford can still do the eyewear though - man oh man does Tom know his way around frames!
For the more casual looks, I'm betting Gillian would be down with Rag & Bone jeans.
The only thing I can't decide on yet is if she wears heels with her suits. What do you think?
Jane Bond drives:
I don't know anything about cars, so someone else will have to figure this one out.
Jane Bond works out:
Every day. Kickboxing! She's fast. She probably did ballet when she was younger and now has good posture for life.
Jane Bond smells like:
I know this is kind of strange, but every time I smell Armani's Si fragrance it makes me feel like a classier version of myself. Giorgio says: "Si is my tribute to modern femininity, an irresistible combination of grace, strength and independent spirit." Sounds like female Bond to me.
Jane Bond drinks:
A martini, shaken not stirred, duh, but she also gets to make her own slightly different recipe and name it after the first man (or woman) who broke her heart.
What do you think? Do you agree with my choices?
